New Worship Service

Friday Family Worship Service

Fridays 7:00 pm

All are welcome to attend our Friday Family Service at 7:00 pm in Fellowship Hall. This casual worship service has arisen out of our mission to grow our own faith community and to become a more vital church.  A diverse group of current congregation members met regularly with Reverend Pak throughout the summer to develop a second service which would grow our congregation by addressing the needs of potential new members in a contemporary, relaxed atmosphere.   Much time was spent exploring reasons for attendance (and non-attendance) of church services in general, as well as the components of various types of worship services.  Changing demographic trends in Bergen County were examined, and residents of Midland Park and surrounding areas were surveyed regarding needs and expectations.

After much deliberation and discussion, the group decided to initiate a second service on Friday evenings to address a population that may be looking for something a little different than a traditional Sunday morning service. The Friday Family Service will be a venue for people to eat, pray and worship all at the same time with their church family.  It will expand the opportunities for people to practice their faith by providing a service on an alternate day and time in our increasingly busy world.  Food will nourish our bodies while worship nourishes our spirits in a casual but respectful atmosphere that will welcome people of all ages and ethnicities. The contemporary service will be family-friendly, and children will be included. Please join us on Friday evenings  by yourself or with family or friends. Invite someone new to experience for themselves the warmth and fellowship of our incredible church community as we embark upon this next step in our spiritual journey together!
