Dear Sisters and Brothers,

When John the Baptist was arrested, he had a question about Jesus. Was Jesus the Messiah? John sent his disciples to Jesus and they asked, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?” (Luke 7:19) Why did John have that question? John was sent to “prepare the way” for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (Mark 1:2-3) he knew that  and worked hard to do his mission, But, why did he have this question?

I can guess why he had that question, but I don’t know the answer. The Gospel of Luke gives us an answer.

“ At that very time Jesus cured many who had diseases, sicknesses and evil spirits, and gave sight to many who were blind.  So he replied to the messengers, “Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor.” (Luke 7:21-22)

What is this? I believe this is the church where Jesus is working for his Kingdom. I can say that Church is a beautiful place not because the building is beautiful but because we can see Gods’ ministries there. I can say that church has hope not because we go to church but because our Lord Jesus is with us to heal us with his compassion.

I want to see our church MPUMC, a healing church …beautiful church because of God’s ministries and hope in Jesus.

Love you all in Jesus,
